In 1999 Buy It Direct started with just a simple small shop in Huddersfield. We were one of the first companies in the UK to start selling laptops online, and it didn't take us long to branch out in to a range of different categories.
The business now runs eight websites ranging from all those much needed electricals, to home appliances and accessories, furniture, baby needs and much more. Our vision is all about great prices for all our products, with a great service along the way.
Not just operating our own website, in 2010 we developed further increasing our portfolio to include white-label sites for well-known UK retailers, including Debenhams and BHS. 2010 was a busy year for us as it also saw the launch of brand new working relationships with insurance providers, meaning we get to supply all those insurance replacement products on behalf of the UK's premier insurance companies.
The hard work has paid off as the company has continued to grow with the turnover now reaching £100 million, and showing no signs of stopping.

Nick Glynne opens a small shop in Fartown, Huddersfield.
Acer Direct launched, our Acer specific website, focusing on laptops, desktops and all things Acer!
Laptops Direct website launched offering a huge range of laptops, from all the top brands, nationwide.
Both DirectTVs and Aircon Direct websites are launched, bringing the companies total websites to four.
Servers Direct is established bringing the total websites to five. Due to increasing business the company moves to its new Huddersfield HQ on Leeds Road.
Buy It Direct purchases Trade Appliances and rebrands them as Appliances Direct. CCTV specialist iView Cameras is also launched.
2010 was a big year for the company, expanding to open a new Derbyshire showroom and warehouse as well as venturing into the new markets of insurance replacement, white label partnerships with BHS and Debenhams.
Continuing expansion means the companies Huddersfield HQ is revamped to allow for a huge showroom as well as its existing offices and warehouse space. The company also started working with RBS and Aviva in the insurance replacement market.
Venturing into yet another new market, Buy It Direct purchases furniture specialist Furniture 123.
This was a busy year for the company firstly with the launch of electrIQ, allowing for us to start importing and selling of our brand products to customers. Additional our white label partnerships grew with Tesco coming on board. Finally to house of all these additional products and to support our continues growth an additional warehouse in Barnsley was opened.
Always looking to expand the product range, Buy It Direct purchases Drones specialist Proflight UK, and rebranded them as Drones Direct. Once again to support our continued grow additional space attached to our Huddersfield head office was acquired to increase the size of our warehouse as well as office space.
